Further detail on Editioned Prints
Because of the uncertainties involved in producing a finely printed book, a considerable number of extra copies of each sheet must be printed in order to insure enough good copies of the book. As a consequence, “overrun” editions of some of the images are available in small quantities. These images were printed during the production of the book, and were printed on Zerkall, a fine mould-made paper imported from Germany. I also printed a larger edition of each image on Monadnock paper. This paper is a high quality acid-free commercial sheet produced in the United States. The Monadnock editions are less expensive due to lower paper costs and larger edition sizes. Both editions were printed from the original end grain maple wood blocks, using the same inks, on the same printing press. All prints are numbered and signed.
